Friday, December 23, 2005 I'm tired this week. On top of my normal camp work, i now have to learn servicing all over again. And still have to prepare for today's Christmas celebrations. I left camp at 530am this morning, guess this will be the earliest time i book out ever in my army life. Had to rush to east coast for christmas celebrations. Except of a few minor blips, haha, everything is under control. I tried inviting my friends over for the Christmas celebrations. I'm hoping the rally will be spiritually impactful. Hoping this Christmas rally can help my friends realise something that's missing from their hearts. I'm sure somehow everyone believes that there is some God, but those who do not know who is Jesus, Jesus is our Saviour, Lord, the almighty One, comforter and best friend. Pray that the rally this fri sat and sunday will be spiritually great. God will be watching over this rally! Daniel at 7:53:00 PM
Wednesday, December 07, 2005 Marathon Over I woke up at 345am on a sunday morning which was my birthday, to go running for a marathon which will start at 6am. This meant i slept 3hrs 45mins last night. It totally is'nt good to run a marathon like that. I took the Berocca drink with ginseng before i left house. Once at the padang, i took a photo with the full marathon Habitat for Humanity Runners for Shelters team. Then i left with my army friend to wait at the start line. I found out that the elite runners stand right at the front part of the race. The organisers had arranged this. The race was flagged off. The run started out slowly, when we reached Marina at the 4 or 5km mark the elite runners especially the Kenyans were leaving Marina at the 9km mark. The Singaporean runners gave a round of applause for the elite runners. It was like quite amazing that they were there already. They were running just like my 5000m race pace like that. At the 10km mark onwards, i went on running without my army friend, though i was still going on at constant pace. Soon at the 19km mark we had already entered east coast and soon we saw the kenyans leaving east coast in the opposite direction at 31km mark. Wow, they were so fast. There were bananas and powerbar gels at the 27km mark. Once i had reached 30km, i was really exhausted, my legs were pain and tight, my foot was pain and i felt like vomiting. It was a totally new experience that i've felt. So i walked and jogged for the next 12km. When i was finally reaching the finishing point at 41km. I heaped a sigh of relief and strided in past the finishing line. My legs were totally pain, my knees hurt. I could only limped back to collect my bag and changed before i went home to rest.
