I just got baptised last saturday. It's great to tell the public(at least for my church frens) that I'm ready to commit my life to the Lord.
In the morning, we went kayaking, and got really tired because i guess its the first time i kayak for two hours. My legs were in an uncomfortable position and my hands were too tired. But i guess i went on because Yuen Mun kept pushing me.

A touching flash movie, you can view it here.

Have we been obedient in following God's words, even when external circumstances have tried to pull us away from Him? Have we kept our faith? Have we been loyal?

My ahm friends and I met up at my house downstairs last night at 650pm to run to turf city. Upon reaching turf city we changed our mind of going the 4km route inside because it will be dangerous running downslope when u cant see anything. Yup, in case if we fell in the dark. So we ran to national junior college, it was super far, around 12km away from my house. We ran into National jc to have a drink from the water cooler and by the time we reached back halfway through bukit timah, near railway mall, it was already 9pm. We walked back from King albert park onwards, cos my friend's knee was hurting, and we were super hungry. Running after work is tiring considering the last time u had a meal was lunch at 12pm. My thighs were hurting too. By the time i reached back it was 940pm and my friend and i drank alot of water and hundred plus.

First time running a race that was 21.1km, it was exciting and nervous at the start. The thought of running past east coast park, sheares Bridge, national stadium, wow it made it exciting. Nervous because my stomach was not quite right. Hahaz.

At 545am, the race was flagged off. Everyone ran and i started off quite relaxed. However, i could not run fast. But after struggling through and almost getting a cramp at the last 900m of the race, i completed the race at a time of 1hr 42min. The Lord really helped me in the race. I really felt like going to the toilet in the race. But i carried on.

At the end, it was really very giddy after I completed. U got to wake up at 3am to go to Padang there. Hahaz.

It was a meaningful experience. Going to many houses and discovering that there are actually more out there who are even facing more troubles. Theirs are real life problems, but some of them can still take it.

Joe brought us to many homes to interact with the children, deaf and mute, people with kidney problem. One lady who was deaf really was a strong woman. She is so young, guess about late 20s to early 30s and she has two kids. It was the first time i guess i communicated with the deaf and mute, so of course Fernell and I had to use pen and paper to talk. She said the guy on cHannel U was a brave guy because he was blind.

At another house, we saw a woman with kidney problems. Seeing all the scars on her hand and the hole that the needle piercing created during dialysis really scared me. I've been such in a good life that i never realised all these suffering of others.

Overall, since it was the first time spending the whole morning travelling to different homes and communicating with the handicapped and sickly, it was definitely worthwhile.

Ahm is just this sunday and i have to wake up at 3am to catch my sir's car. My sir is 50 years old and he can still run so fast. Sometimes when i am tired during training, he'll win me. I heard he completed a full marathon at the age of 32. I started running at sec 4, at fairfield methodist, meaning it is the 4th year that i'm training for a competition.

Every time I train, I think of God, I know God will help me endure the race, just like God will help me endure and guide me through life's journey. One training when we ran at least 21km, I did not have my lunch but had just two milo bars. I was struggling in the run, at every water point i felt like falling out, but as i thought of God, my mind and my heart called me to endure on. A race, no matter it is 100m, 5km, or a full marathon, is just like a life's journey. Without God, how can we endure through each part of life. For me I had to endure through O levels at the age of 16. For the A levels, I found that I had the added strength from God as I prayed at every cell group and with my classmates in the morning before each paper.

I'll like to thank Wesley for bringing me to church, my jc classmates Joel, Shuting, Jason and Marc for praying each day before each A level paper, my sajc cell group members like Yuen Mun for helping me each time though I fall, and my ns cell group members who helped me and bringing me back to church. With friends who will help you grow and hold close to God and Christ Jesus, that is great.

Thank you Lord for all the things You have brought to my life.

IN CHRIST ALONE

In Christ alone
I place my trust
And find my glory
In the power of the cross
In every victory
Let it be said of me
My source of strength
My source of hope
Is Christ alone
